 The Women’s Health Research Centre Wales will benefit from a £3 million investment from Health and Care Research Wales, supported by the Welsh Government, alongside an additional £750,000 for other dedicated women’s health research projects.
 
Ã山ǿ¼é researchers Professor Jane Noyes and Dr Carys Stringer are directly involved in developing the Centre. Dr Stringer, a lecturer with the Academy for Health Equity, Prevention, and Wellbeing, will contribute her expertise in health economic evaluation.
 
This centre will serve as a global hub for research, innovation, and co-production in women’s health. Its mission is to address and eliminate long-standing inequalities in women’s health through four thematic focus areas:

1. Prevention and Healthy Transitions – Advancing preventative measures and supporting healthy transitions throughout life.
2. Early and Life-Long Conditions – Improving diagnosis, treatment, and care for conditions that affect women across their lifespans.
3. Rare and Stigmatised Conditions – Shedding light on overlooked and stigmatised conditions that disproportionately impact women.
4. Underserved Communities – Addressing disparities and barriers to healthcare access in marginalised populations.
